The Thinking Place: a sound installation
For years I’ve been searching for reasons.
Fearing the possibility of nothing but nothing,
I face each day with a deep breath, a glance in the mirror,
A cup of coffee and your loving hand.
Existence is not what it seems.
There is a big room inside of being
That has no ceiling.
Baby Death opens the small secret door.
My mother is waiting inside.
(You continue to hold my hand.)
She gives me new clothes
That resemble my old ones.
All the collars, cuffs and pockets
Have been ripped out and re-sewn inside out.
They sparkle with jewels, feathers and fine capillaries of pulsing blood.
She shows us some chairs.
We all sit down.
This is the Thinking Place.
