Fabric Work

Heads is a body of work dedicated to the memories of Daniel Pearl and Nick Berg, two Jewish Americans held hostage, and subsequently beheaded in Pakistan and Iraq respectively. I have created pillows for their heads to rest upon. The creatures and drawings are imaginary heads and bodies that hold my pain. I use the media of sewing, beading, needlework and drawing for personal comfort and safety as I try to understand a violent world.
